Manor students and staff past and present, together with members of the community we have served for over two centuries, celebrated the school’s 205th anniversary in style at York Minster.
The Archbishop of York, John Sentamu, was a guest speaker and he recalled breaking the soil on the Millfield Lane site 11 years ago. Other speakers included Brian Crosby, former Principal and now Chief Executive of Hope Sentamu Learning Trust; Simon Barber, Principal; and Julian Watson, Steve Cooper and Dan Finn on Manor’s charitable work in Malawi and Romania, and details of the Archbishop’s Youth Award.
Music, led by Dave Lowe, was a particular highlight and featured Manor’s Voices Choir, MCO, students Fiona Begg, Theo Brook-Ashmore and Alice Hill and the Manor Percussion Ensemble.
Dramatic readings and performances completed a magnificent evening.
