Manor students celebrate fantastic GCSE results

Students from Manor Church of England Academy are celebrating fantastic GCSE results today (24 August 2017).

Results in the new GCSE English exam are exceptional with 42% of students attaining grades 9-7, (which is broadly equivalent to A-A* in the old grading system with grade 9 being A**) and in Maths 30% of students achieved grades 9-7, an outstanding result too.

Some 82% of students have achieved the new benchmark of 9-4 in English and Maths.

Across the year there are 20 students who have achieved more than 10 A*-A results and the number of Manor students achieving grade 9s is well above the national average.

There is a significant number of students whose progress from Key Stage 2 is well above the national average also.

Principal Simon Barber says: “These results are wonderful! Our staff and students have worked incredibly hard and it is brilliant to see this hard work pay off. The students have shown real dedication and commitment and have worked so hard to get to grips with the new GCSEs in Maths and English, whilst still focusing on their other subjects.

“On behalf of all the staff at Manor, I’d like to congratulate all our students on their well-deserved results and wish them all the very best for the future.”
