The Manor CE Academy Careers Information, Advice and Guidance Policy states that “The teaching and opportunities available to our pupils will empower them to make informed personal choices, and stay in education, employment or training long after their time at the academy.”

We recognise that several Post 16 options are appropriate for each individual student and therefore design activities to broaden awareness of the options and then provide personal guidance to look at the relevance in connection with student interests and aspirations.

Student destination data illustrates that students are encouraged to consider all post 16 options:

79% of students attended either York College or Askham Bryan College to study A Levels or Vocational Courses and 17% of students attend one of the five York based School Sixth Forms or a Specialist Education Provider in Performing Arts. A number of our students now attend an Independent School. Students progressed into Apprenticeships in a range of sectors.

In 2020, the highest percentage of students progressed to a College of Further Education 79%. This rate varies each year: 2019 – 57%, 2018 – 61%. 

DFE Destination Measures for 2019 Leavers show 98% of 2019 leavers sustained their destination of apprenticeship, employment and education which compares to 94% nationally.
