Year 11 Parents’ Evening – German

AQA German Code 8668

The GCSE course has changed significantly this year. There are 3 themes that are covered:

1. Identity and Culture
2. Local, national, international and global areas of interest
3. Current and future study and employment

There is no longer a coursework/controlled assessment element to the course.

There are 4 final exams worth 25% each in the skills of Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing.

Students are entered for Foundation or Higher papers. Mixed tier entries are no longer possible.

Key dates:

• Mid-March: 2nd speaking mock exam
• Week commencing 30 April: (proposed dates) Actual speaking exam
• 18 June: Listening and Reading exam (these exams are sat back to back)
• 21 June: Writing exam
