Collective Worship/ Form Worship/ Thought for the day

It is the law that all school children have a daily act of collective worship. As Manor is a church school that worship is Distinctively Christian in nature. Each week students will take part in Year Group Collective Worship in the hall, a Form Worship and three Thoughts for the Day. The topics covered in Collective Worship are taken from our 5 year plan which ensures that all students cover a breadth of topics during their time at Manor, including an understanding of key themes throughout the Bible and the church calendar.

If you would like to withdraw your child from Collective Worship, please contact their Head of Year.

Form admin

This is a slot during the week where important notices can be given, but also provides time for student council members to give feedback to students from meetings, for house competitions and other key events throughout the year.

Manor Message

The Manor Message is a chance for students to consider emerging issues (on a school, local, national or even worldwide scale). The topics for the Manor Message are usually reacting to need in school.

Personal Development

As well as the curriculum time given to PSHE, there is also a weekly slot for students to consider relevant issues. This is a chance for all members of the school community to be hearing about, and discussing big issues that affect all of us. Personal development time in form strives to develop students’ oracy by implementing an allocation of discussion time in each session building upon students ability to critically consider. Students are also provided with an opportunity to reflect on how these themes and topics apply to themselves. These sessions aim to develop an individual's character and promote awareness of what it means to be a global citizen.
